Adorable and minimalistic, these handcrafted wood elephants are made by the artisans from the Luangwa Artisan Collective. Using locally sourced mukwa wood, these cute wooden trinkets make for the perfect decoration in any elephant lovers home. 

The artisans from Luangwa Artisan Collective are independent artisans that work out from Tribal Textiles, and all sale proceeds go directly to them and their families. We train those local artists in product development and business skills such as merchandising, accounting and pricing. We work with them to create beautiful products and give them access to local and international wholesale markets. We built for them an all-weather work and market place on Tribal Textiles ground, where they can sell to visitors.

I ordered two mediums and one small to give as a gift set and absolutely loved how they looked. The mediums were not exactly the same - there were minor differences and variations in the wood characteristics, the wood color, and the size which was exactly what I was hoping for. Absolutely gorgeous!

Having visited them in Mfuwe, Zambia, it was great to be able to shop online for more pieces. Shipping was easy and my products arrived in Australia when expected. The elephants and giraffe carved from wood are gorgeous - they make beautiful gifts and those that I've kept bring back wonderful memories. I'll be back for more purchases!

From weavers and wood carvers to artists and metal-smiths, the Luangwa Artisan Collective is made up of independent and talented master artisans.

Based in South Luangwa, where jobs are scarce, they are dedicated to improving their skills to make a living from their art and passion.
