This collection is dear to our heart as it originates alongside our design project with the Congolese Refugees of Mantapala, Zambia.
It has fast become one of our popular collections and now we present it in wonderful shades of blues.

Inspired by the Creatives of Mantapala Refugee Settlement
The bold geometric shapes in this collection were inspired by photographs of the handwoven textiles created during the MADE51 x Mantapala Refugee Project. Tribal Textiles' in-house designer, Jennifer Jarvis, travelled to Mantapala Refugee Settlement to work alongside refugee artisans, where together they explored the iconic patterns of traditional Kuba cloth. Learning to weave together, the team reinterpreted these classic designs into their own striking graphic motifs.
On returning to South Luangwa, Jennifer developed the Kuba collection to complement the handwoven MADE51 x Mantapala pieces. Displayed and sold alongside the refugee-made products, the collection helped draw attention to the project and support sales for the artisans involved.
